Last Mile Drone Delivery System
This project, completed as part of ME 2110: Creative Decisions and Design, focused on designing an autonomous drone system for delivering perishable goods within a 5-mile radius. Using the Dragonfly Heavy Lift Drone, the solution featured a lightweight carbon fiber container with a polystyrene interior for temperature regulation. Key features included a winch-based release system for safe delivery, a hinged loading door, and integrated tracking for real-time updates.
The design prioritized safety, reliability, and functionality, addressing critical customer needs while meeting engineering requirements. This project demonstrated problem-solving skills, engineering design tools, and collaboration in tackling challenges in last-mile delivery logistics.
